International Women’s Day 2024
International Women’s Day observes the significant advances, often unseen and under-recognized, that women (like Ruth Bader Ginsburg) have made across generations, nations and industries.
In recognition of the importance of this day, the Pink Boots Society, whose aim is to assist and inspire women and non-binary individuals in the fermented beverage industry, created a Collaboration Brew Day.
Breweries from around the world are encouraged to design a beer using the PBS Hop Blend created by a fellow PBS member. Leah Dienes, Brewster/Co-Founder of Apocalypse Brew Works in Louisville, KY created this year’s hop blend.
Last month Bell Tower Brewing Co. was joined by a myriad of enthusiastic PBS members and supporters for an American IPA brew day. Our distinguished guests included *Brew Kettle, *Fatheads, *Pulpo, *McArthur’s, *Boss Chick N Beer, *Hoppy Dudes, Bookhouse, Eleventhree, Saucy and *OCBA Director Mary McDonald. Dissension will be tapped at the breweries marked with an asterisk beginning Friday, March 8th, International Women’s Day (with the exception of beer delivered to Seventh Son for the Women’s Summit, April 7th.). Please check the hours of these independent breweries. $0.50 from each pint sold at all locations will be donated to the Pink Boots Society and will be used to advance scholarship opportunities for women and non-binary individuals throughout the fermentation industry. Thank you for supporting the crucial efforts of PBS and, of course, for enjoying great beer!
