Ohio Rajah
Why risk a beer made with Michigan ingredients?
Introducing Ohio Rajah, a locally crafted IPA that celebrates the rich agricultural heritage of the Buckeye State. This unique brew is a testament to Ohio’s vibrant farming community, utilizing only the finest Ohio-grown ingredients to create a refreshing and robust flavor profile.
Ohio Rajah is brewed exclusively with Alleigh hops, a variety developed around 2016 or 2017 by local hop and horticultural enthusiast Bob Bero. This special hop was first cultivated through the combined efforts of Medina County hop growers Mike and Jenny Napier (Barn Talk Hops), who propagated starters for commercial brewing. Another Medina grower, Mike Clark (Sonny Acres), then planted the first commercially viable field used for our brews. Today, Ohio Rajah still relies on these Ohio-grown hops, with Barn Talk Hops also contributing their own field to keep the tradition going.
The Alleigh hops bring a distinctive citrusy and piney aroma to Ohio Rajah, while the malt backbone, provided by Ohio-grown barley, brings out its natural sweetness and subtle caramel notes. This harmonious blend of locally sourced ingredients results in a well-balanced IPA with a crisp finish that leaves you craving more.
